Please join the  Kensington Historical Society for a special presentation: Dry Oases: Local Prohibitions of Alcohol in Kensington, Damascus, and Takoma Park by Ranjit Dighe Coffee: 7:00 PM, Speaker 7:30 PM Ranjit Dighe, economic historian, will discuss his research into how Kensington and two other towns embraced prohibition long before the nation did and why they kept their prohibitions for more than half a century after national prohibition ended.

The Kensington Historical Society has a vast collection of historical material in its archive collection including pictures, news articles, and much more.  The public is welcome to visit us on Thursday afternoons between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Our office is located in the basement of  Kensington Town Hall. Our address is 3715 Mitchell Street, Kensington, MD  20895.

The Historical Society Archive in the Kensington Town Hall is closed temporarily.  We look forward to reopening, and will post a notice here as soon as we reopen.
